The new "
pagode° edition" is a further successful
step in the well-established tradition of finite
elemente in its
efforts to achieve absolute sound quality.
For the first time a
hi-fi rack designer is using scientifically
based arguments in its fight against sound-distorting
resonances.
What is a "Resonator"?Resonators are metal rods, where their natural frequency is tailored to the natural frequencies of the
pagode Master Reference. The integration of these resonators clearly reduces vibration amplitudes excited by airborne or
solidborne noise. A large part of the kinetic energy – up to 90% with self-excitation, and up to 70% with forced excitation – are converted silently into heat by the resonators. Each
pagode model is fitted with a set of resonators determined individually in a measuring-engineering process.
Six resonator types (220 Hz, 486 Hz, 512 Hz,
550 Hz, 670 Hz and 882 Hz.)
are distributed in two possible
variations across the whole rack.
Each wooden frame is fitted with four
resonators to ensure a
linearised natural
resonance
behaviour. The coupling of
the shelves is effected using
height-adjustable cone-shaped spikes.
